Important Note: Before creating an Application Map, you must first create a Flight Group and upload all necessary flight logs into that group.

Navigate to Desired Flight Group

Open the desired Flight Group. This step is unnecessary if you just created the Flight Group.

Choose Map Type

Select the “Create Application Map” button.

Choose the map type you would like to create from the drop-down. The following options are:

  1. Coverage Map

  2. As Applied (Gal/Acre)

  3. As Applied Map (Gal/Acre)

Coverage Map

Coverage Maps are the most commonly used and are supported across all drone brands. They don’t contain rate data and appear as one solid color.

Note: KML uploaded flight logs can ONLY generate As Covered Maps. This limitation exists because the manufacturer’s files do not include data on the drone's flow rate.

As Applied Map (Gal/Sec)

The As Applied Map is a Coverage Map enhanced with rate data, which comes from the drone's flow meter. At this time, ONLY DJI drones added to AcreConnect’s Master DJI Agras Account can supply the flow rate data needed to create an As Applied Map. Using the gal/sec format displays the raw data from DJI's system.

As Applied Map (Gal/Acre)

This version of the As Applied Map shows application rates using gallons per acre (gal/acre). By taking the pump’s flow rate, measured in gallons per second (gal/sec), we convert that raw data into a meaningful representation of application coverage, making it easy to see actual rates applied across the field.

Tip: If you are interested in adding your DJI drone to AcreConnect’s Master DJI Agras Account to get access to generate As Applied Maps, please contact AcreConnect® support by using the chatbot in the bottom right-hand corner or by emailing [email protected]

Create Application Map

After selecting your desired map type, click “Create Map.”

AcreConnect® will then process the requested map. Once complete, it will appear under the Flight Group on the left-hand side.

This process can be repeated to create additional map types.

Views

To switch between the different map types processed and the uploaded flight(s), use the dropdown in the top right labeled “Map Type”.

By selecting “Flights”, the list of associated flight logs and paths will be displayed.

Additional flight logs can be uploaded, and application maps can be processed at any time.

Note: Flight Groups can include logs from multiple days. However, an error message can appear when creating an Application Map for multiple fields, the fields cannot be farther apart than 3 square kilometers (approximately 740 acres or 1.15 square miles) in total separation.

Export

Start by selecting the application map from the list on the left (if multiple are available) before exporting it as a PDF or Shapefile.

In the bottom left-hand corner, click "Export."

PDF and Shapefile

You can download a PDF of the Application Map by clicking the "Download" dropdown and selecting "Download PDF." See example PDFs below.

Additionally, you can download the Shapefile (SHP) of the Application if you need to manually import it into another software. See example Shapefile below.

Share

You can also share your application map with John Deere Operations Center™ or Climate FieldView™. Open the "Share" dropdown, then choose the platform you’d like to send it to.
